Mrs. A. B. Crum of Rock Island Succumbs at 77

Mrs. Arthur B. Crum, 77, of 2510 5½ Ave., Rock Island, who for many years was an active member of the Democratic party, died at 10:20 last night in St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rock Island where she had been admitted 12 hours earlier.

Funeral services have been set for 5 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the Wheelan Funeral Home in Rock Island.  The Rev. Fred J. Rolf, pastor emeritus of the Church of Peace, Rock Island, will be officiating.  Burial will be in Memorial Parl Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after noon tomorrow.

Mrs. Crum was born on March 26, 1883, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Young in Schuyler County.  She was raised and educated in Schuyler County. She was married to Arthur B. Crum on Sept. 19, 1901 in Macomb.  The couple moved to Rock Island  in 1908 from Augusta.

Mrs. Crum formerly served as both county and city chairwomen for the Democratic party. She was a member of the Women’s City Club of Rock Island and Memorial Christian Church.  She was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Survivors include the widower in Rock Island, a daughter, Mrs. Frederick Bogaert, Sr., of Marshalltown, Iowa; a brother, Charles Young of Augusta; a sister, Mrs. Nellie Buss of Quincy, and a grandson, Frederick Jr. of Marshalltown, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and rwo sisters.
