MRS. CATHERINE NEIHAUS DEAD

AN OLD AND WELL KNOWN RESIDENT PASSES AWAY AT NOON TODAY

Mrs. Katherine Niehaus died at noon today at 1268 Vermont street.  She was a widow.  She was born in Oldenberg Dec. 19, 1837, and died of senility after ailing for ten days.

She had lived here fifty-two years, and leaves four daughters, Misses Mary and Rosa at home;  Mrs. H. Walterman of Hannibal, and Mrs. Herman Schullian of this city.  She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Herman Ventercher, of Carroll, Iowa, and three grandchildren.  She was a member of St. Francis ladies’ society and was a well known and estimable resident.

Obituary from Quincy newspaper, name and date unknown.   The date is thought to be about October 21, 1908.  The various spellings of the name have been transcribed exactly as they were printed in the newspaper obituary.
