MRS. HERRING PASSED AWAY

DIED AT HER HOME, 1215 HAMPSHIRE STREET, THIS MORNING AT 10:30

Mrs. Josephine Herring, of 1215 Hampshire street succumbed to bronchitis this morning at 10:30 o’clock her present illness being of one week’s duration.

Deceased was born in Betra, Prussia, Germany, July 16, 1838, and was therefore 70 years, 3 months and 5 days of age at the time of her death.  She came to this country at an early date, and later came to Quincy, residing here for the past 52 years, during which time she made a host of friends who are grieved to hear of her passing.

She is survived by four sons, John and Fred Herring of this city; Herman Herring of St. Louis, and Bernard Herring of Rockford, Ill.  Three daughters also survive her, Mrs. R. R. Bennett, of Plymouth, Pa.;  Mrs. Frank Fell, of Newark, N. J. and Mrs. Robert Joseph, of this city.  She left a sister, Mrs. Charles Surlage, of this city, and twenty grandchildren.

Deceased was a devoted member of St. Boniface church.  Funeral notice later.
